About Posh Pets
Anne Walker was selected by Pierre Deux to participate in the Pierre Deux 2008 "Posh Pets, Design Challenge For A Cause." Honoring the launch of Pierre Deux's pet collection and aiming to raise awareness and funding for animal therapy and service programs, the national design competition tasked 20 designers with creating a new pet product using Pierre Deux fabrics. Anne designed and commissioned a custom-made canopy dog bed for the competition. It features a hand-made, round mahogany base on turned legs and a powder-coated wrought iron canopy. The iron canopy is adorned with four fabric panels, each hand-made from three different Pierre Deux fabrics. A 5-inch-thick round mattress sits atop the mahogany base of the bed, and is covered by a custom-made cover featuring a fourth Pierre Deux fabric pattern. Attached by nail heads, a custom-made box-pleated skirt envelops the bottom third of the mahogany base and just grazes the floor. Measuring 42" in diameter and more than four feet in height, this opulent canopy dog bed is the ultimate in luxury for man's best friend.
When asked to describe her inspiration for this design, Anne Walker wrote, "Who could be more deserving of a good nightís rest than manís best friend? Whether they are service dogs or beloved family pets, dogs give us so much, asking very little in return. How fitting to give them a posh place to sleep thatís fit for a King!"

This magnificent custom dog bed is now available for sale to the public. Previously priced at $5,500.00, it is now offered at $2,500.00. Net proceeds will go to benefit Canine Companions for Independence, a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs.
